Services
Intervention:
Intervention begins with a review of previous testing and school records, including work samples to establish goals to target success. Regular educational therapy sessions incorporate a variety of intervention techniques to both reinforce academic based subjects and develop processing skills. These sessions are individualized using research based techniques, as well as interactive methods providing a holistic approach. Students develop tools for success in school and every day life.
Advocacy:
Advocacy services include direct instruction and modeling of self advocacy techniques for both family and students. Helping students have a better understanding of their learning styles, strengths, and challenges are key to the self advocacy process. Advocacy may also include supporting the family in understanding and receiving school related services. Preparation and participation in the Student Study Team (SST), 504 Education Plan (accommodation plan), and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) are offered as part of the advocacy component.
